Mac OS X : External USB drive not recognized

After updating my Mac to OS X 10.4.10, my external USB2 drive didn’t mount any more. When I watch in the log, here is an example of what it says :

314.289 [1] AppleUSBEHCI0×1f05800::Found a transaction past the completion deadline on bus 0×5b, timing out! (Addr: 5, EP: 2)

So I’ve replaced the 2 extensions : IOUSBFamily.kext & IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext by the ones you can find in 10.4.9 and it worked again. But since I upgraded my Mac to Leopard, boom, the external drive didn’t mount again. I’m not the only one : see here.

As one of the member said : “I can’t believe this issue has been around since 10.4.10 and with so many people have the same issue Apple hasn’t fix it” !!! Apple, please, what are you waiting for ?

This is very upsetting !
